Basketball Recap: Mcdonald Beats Mineral Ridge for Their Second Straight Win

McDonald won the last time they faced Mineral Ridge, and Joey Cappuzzello did his part to make sure it happened again. The McDonald Blue Devils walked away with a 45-36 victory over the Mineral Ridge Rams on Friday thanks in part to Cappuzzello, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in blocks.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Shaffer, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Moore, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for McDonald and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Mineral Ridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

McDonald has already played their next contest, a 63-24 victory against Springfield on the 24th. As for Mineral Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-36 win against McKinley on the 24th.
