Volleyball Recap: Block Island Comes Up Short

Block Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Raphael Academy Saints.

Block Island took St. Raphael Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-12, 15-13.

Block Island's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for St. Raphael Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.

Coincidentally, Block Island and St. Raphael Academy will both be playing North Providence the next time they take the court. Block Island will head out to face North Providence at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while St. Raphael Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
