Acadiana had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 29-21 win over the Carencro Bears on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won eight matchups in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Collin Dibetta, who rushed for 44 yards and one score, and also threw for 53 yards and one TD.

Despite the defeat, Carencro saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carson Gurzi threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 48 yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was Kendrick Bernard, who picked up 92 receiving yards and one score.

Acadiana's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Carencro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Coming up, Acadiana will challenge St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Purple Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. Carencro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
