Softball Game Preview: Cumberland Dukes vs. Monticello Mustangs

The Cumberland Dukes will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Monticello Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Cumberland is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Monticello on Monday, falling 9-0.

For Monticello's part, Cumberland's batters probably weren't too happy with Madison Steppe, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks).

At the plate, Stella Snoddy and Willow Barr did most of the damage at the plate: Snoddy scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Barr scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Barr a new career-high. Libby Good was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
