Football Recap: Rusk Eagles vs. Kaufman Lions
Rusk kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Kaufman Lions 42-6. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-6.
Kaufman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Burleson out in front who threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (102 yards to be exact) went to Aljour Miles II.
Rusk will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Mount Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kaufman, they will head out to square off against Athens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
