Volleyball Game Preview: Burton Scorpions vs. Animo Venice Pirates

The Burton Scorpions will take on the Animo Venice Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Burton took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Animo Watts. The win continues a trend for the Scorpions in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-18, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Animo Venice beat Animo City of Champions 3-1 on Wednesday.

While Animo Venice might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Animo City of Champions scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19.

Animo Venice's victory bumped their record up to 3-6-1. As for Burton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Burton might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Animo Venice when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Scorpions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
