Basketball Recap: Prospect Takes a Loss

Prospect was the 69-54 winner over Lincoln when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Prospect Panthers were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 50-49 to the Lincoln Lions. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joseph Shelton was his usual excellent self, putting up 23 points and five assists for Lincoln. That makes it four consecutive games in which Shelton has scored at least a third of Lincoln's points. Another player making a difference was Noah MacKenzie, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Prospect's record is now 10-8. As for Lincoln, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-8 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prospect will host Silver Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lincoln, they will welcome Leland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln is facing Leland at the right time seeing as Leland is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
