Recap: Romulus Eagles vs. Crestwood Chargers
The Romulus Eagles won the last time they faced the Crestwood Chargers, and things went their way on Friday too. Romulus came out on top against Crestwood by a score of 63-53. Given Romulus' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Crestwood is ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Romulus found their leader in underclassman Samaira Searcy, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sa'Ryah Roberts, who scored 11 points along with five assists and three steals.
Romulus now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Crestwood, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Romulus won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Renaissance at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. Renaissance will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Crestwood will be home for the holidays to greet Mater Dei on Monday. Mater Dei knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Crestwood likes a good challenge.
