Softball Recap: Chapel Hill Comes Up Short

Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They lost 15-0 to the Gilmer Buckeyes. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Gilmer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chapel Hill is set to square off against their familiar foe Carthage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gilmer will challenge rival Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Buckeyes 2.5, the Lions 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
