Baseball Game Preview: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Kuna Kavemen

The Ridgevue Warhawks will head out to take on the Kuna Kavemen at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgevue will be strutting in after a victory while Kuna will be coming in after a defeat.

Ridgevue took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Meridian with a sharp 8-1 win. The Warhawks haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Dante Brinegar, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Branson Dance was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Kuna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Rocky Mountain. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Kavemen have suffered since April 17, 2025.

Kuna also got a good showing from Broxton Severe, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Severe has become a key player for the Kavemen: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 8-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Kuna saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bergan Overall, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Ridgevue's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Kuna, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Everything went Ridgevue's way against Kuna in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Ridgevue made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
