Basketball Game Preview: St. Henry Redskins vs. Marion Local Flyers

The St. Henry Redskins will challenge the Marion Local Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: St. Henry has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Marion Local will arrive with four straight wins.

Last Saturday, St. Henry came up short against Wapakoneta and fell 54-45.

Despite their defeat, St. Henry saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brayden Heath, who posted 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Huelsman, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points.

Meanwhile, Marion Local beat Fort Recovery 46-38 on Tuesday. Given the Flyers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Indians are ranked 608th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marion Local's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for St. Henry, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

St. Henry came up short against Marion Local in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 58-50. Can St. Henry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
