Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Katia Slama and Dania Rodriguez Lead King City to Victory

King City's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Aptos Mariners by a score of 19-12. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

A big part of King City's victory came down to the chemistry between Katia Slama and her top target Dania Rodriguez. Slama threw for 193 yards and three TDs while Rodriguez picked up 133 receiving yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Slama racked up 103.6 passer rating, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

King City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaylin Arvizu and Alejandra Medrano.

King City now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Aptos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
