Basketball Recap: Averill Park Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Averill Park was not quite Albany's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell to the Albany Falcons 51-46. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Albany got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jasani Francis Torras out in front who went 6 for 9 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Corazzini, who posted seven points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Averill Park's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Averill Park will square off against Niskayuna at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for Albany, they will venture away from home to face off against Ballston Spa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
