Football Recap: Rockbridge County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rockbridge County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 55-9 loss at the hands of the Buffalo Gap Bison.

Tyler Woods threw for 68 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. Marshall Earhart was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

Cooper Reed went supernova For Buffalo Gap., rushing for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Reed has posted since back in November of 2024. Brandon Argenbright also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Rockbridge County's record now sits at 0-6. As for Buffalo Gap, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Rockbridge County and Buffalo Gap could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Wilson Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (313 vs. 116). Meanwhile, Buffalo Gap (ranked 245th) will meet Alleghany (ranked 95th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
