Baseball Recap: Manchester Comes Up Short

Manchester lost against James River Midlothian back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lancers fell 5-2 to the Rapids. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manchester saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asher Blalock, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Manchester's record is now 6-6. As for James River Midlothian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Manchester and James River Midlothian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Lancers (ranked 99th) will meet Huguenot (ranked 365th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, James River Midlothian will square off against Monacan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (47 vs. 131).
