Softball Recap: Riverside Pirates vs. Umatilla Vikings
Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to the Umatilla Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Riverside of the 16-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April.
Riverside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Gomez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last six games she's played.
Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Umatilla, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10.
