Baseball Recap: Norco Comes Up Short on the Road Against Great Oak

Norco had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Great Oak Wolfpack by a score of 3-1. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Norco got a good showing from Trent Schlim, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Schlim posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Norco saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Seward, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Looking ahead, Norco will face off against Orange Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Great Oak, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Servite on the 20th.
