Softball Game Preview: Pendleton Buckaroos vs. Marshfield Pirates

The Pendleton Buckaroos will take on the Marshfield Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Pendleton will be strutting in after a win while Marshfield will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Pendleton got the win against Junction City by a conclusive 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Buckaroos, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Sweet Home hit Marshfield with a eight-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates came up short against the Huskies, falling 12-5. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mackenzie Fitzgerald-Thornton made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

Marshfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pendleton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
