Baseball Game Preview: West Platte Bluejays vs. East Buchanan Bulldogs

West Platte is 2-8 against East Buchanan since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. West Platte will face off against East Buchanan at 5:00 p.m. West Platte is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

If West Platte beats East Buchanan with six runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. West Platte beat Union Star on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Buchanan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on South Nodaway with a sharp 17-4 win on Tuesday. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3, 2024.

West Platte's record now sits at 3-0. As for East Buchanan, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went West Platte's way against East Buchanan in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as West Platte made off with an 8-2 win. Will West Platte repeat their success, or does East Buchanan has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
