Basketball Recap: David Watson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Florida Christian

Florida Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Divine Savior Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Florida Christian Patriots 74-56. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sharks also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Divine Savior Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Watson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. Watson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Fernando Grande, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards.

Divine Savior Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matches.

Divine Savior Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Florida Christian, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-7.

Divine Savior Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 83-75 win against Palmetto on the 18th. As for Florida Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-32 victory against Pinecrest Glades Academy on the 22nd.
