Volleyball Recap: Two Rivers Takes a Loss

Two Rivers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Algoma Wolves. The Purple Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Two Rivers sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 15-10.

Anna Klein paced Two Rivers' offense, picking up ten kills. Klein got some help from Isabel Bateman and her 12 assists. Piper Engh controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Two Rivers' loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Algoma, the victory snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 4-11 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Two Rivers will venture away from home to challenge Roncalli at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Algoma, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Southern Door at 7:00 p.m. on October 7.
