Volleyball Recap: Kimberly Wins Going Away Against Kaukauna

Kimberly barely beat Kaukauna the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Papermakers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Galloping Ghosts on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Papermakers in their matchups with the Galloping Ghosts: they've now won seven in a row.

One reason for the win was Kimberly's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-14.

Alex Krause paced Kimberly's offense, picking up 16 kills. Krause got some help from Blake Zielinski and his 27 assists. Krause was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Kimberly's victory bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Kaukauna, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Kimberly will square off against rival Appleton East at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kaukauna is set to face off against their familiar foe Notre Dame Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
