Basketball Recap: Viola Comes Up Short

Viola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Calico Rock Pirates 80-45. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Pirates are ranked 133rd).

Viola's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Calico Rock, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6.

Viola won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Timbo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calico Rock, they will head out to square off against Shirley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
