Football Recap: Holliday Comes Up Short

Holliday's last matchup with Jim Ned could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Eagles were outmatched by the Indians and fell 48-21. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Landon Jones threw for 62 yards and one touchdown. Brady Jones was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards and one score.

Jim Ned's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stone Griffon, who rushed for 129 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Those 129 rushing yards gave Griffon a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Breck Lawson, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Holliday fell to 4-1. As for Jim Ned, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Holliday and Jim Ned will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Eagles see the field they'll take on Millsap at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Jim Ned, their break will end when they face Comanche at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
