Baseball Game Preview: Bradford Eagles vs. Bald Knob Bulldogs

The Bradford Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Bald Knob Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bradford has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bradford's last matchup with Cave City could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Saturday. Bradford came up short against Cave City, falling 15-7. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Micah Dunn put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit over four innings pitched. Dunn was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Keaton Berry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Ben Whitener was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bald Knob). Everything went their way against Mountain View on Saturday as Bald Knob made off with a 15-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Bald Knob and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Bradford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Bradford might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Bald Knob in their previous matchup last Friday. Can Bradford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
