Basketball Game Preview: South Columbus Stallions vs. Heide Trask Titans

The South Columbus Stallions are taking a road trip to challenge the Heide Trask Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Heide Trask took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on South Columbus, who comes in off a win.

South Columbus is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against West Columbus on Tuesday as South Columbus made off with a 57-35 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Stallions considering their 19-point performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Heide Trask took a blow against East Bladen on Tuesday, falling 64-23. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Eagles are ranked 100th).

This is the second loss in a row for Heide Trask and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for South Columbus, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.

South Columbus was able to grind out a solid win over Heide Trask in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 37-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Columbus since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
