Basketball Recap: Nottoway Takes a Loss

Nottoway suffered their closest loss since January 12, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Lunenburg Central Chargers by a score of 46-44. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 59-38.

When it comes to explaining why Nottoway lost, don't look at Promise Tracy. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 16 on her way to 21 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mariana Eppes, who posted ten points.

Nottoway's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lunenburg Central, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Nottoway will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Prince Edward County at 6:15 p.m. As for Lunenburg Central, they will head out to face off against Cumberland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
