Baseball Recap: Oakland Takes a Loss

Oakland lost against Columbia Central back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Oakland Patriots fell 9-6 to the Columbia Central Lions. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Oakland got a good showing from Elijah Avelar, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Andrew Carver was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Oakland's loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for Columbia Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakland will square off against Siegel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia Central, they will face off against Stewarts Creek at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
