Williamsville North's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. The match between them and Orchard Park wasn't particularly close, with Williamsville North falling 77-62. While losing is never fun, Williamsville North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Quakers are ranked 143rd).
Meanwhile, Lancaster strolled past the Quakers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 55-38.
Williamsville North dropped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lancaster, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Williamsville North might still be hurting after the 65-39 loss they got from the Legends in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lancaster's Madison Francis, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 rebounds.
