Volleyball Recap: Lutheran Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Lutheran's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Doherty Spartans by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in March.

The win didn't come easy: Doherty scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 13-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Luke Hultberg was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave him a new career-high. Zane Conely also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Lutheran was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doherty only served one ace.

Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Doherty, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lutheran will face off against rival Rampart at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Doherty is set to square off against their familiar foe Discovery Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
