Baseball Game Preview: West Monroe Rebels vs. Sam Houston Broncos

The West Monroe Rebels will take on the Sam Houston Broncos on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as West Monroe comes in on 19 and Sam Houston on three.

On Monday, West Monroe beat Oak Grove 7-3.

Ryder Dejean and Larson Brock did most of the damage at the plate: Dejean went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Brock went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Dejean a new career-high.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sam Houston walked away with it. They beat the Gators on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-2.

West Monroe pushed their record up to 26-7-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Sam Houston, their victory bumped their record up to 31-7.

West Monroe took their win against Sam Houston in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
