Baseball Recap: Esperanza Comes Up Short

After flying high against Troy on Friday, Esperanza came back down to earth. The Aztecs came up short against the Sonora Raiders on Monday, falling 11-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in April.

Esperanza saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bishop Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Esperanza's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Sonora, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10.

While Esperanza had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
