Softball Recap: Southern Alamance Takes a Loss

Southern Alamance was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Northern Guilford Nighthawks, falling 9-3. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Nighthawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Southern Alamance now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Northern Guilford, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Southern Alamance will square off against Williams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northern Guilford, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southwest Guilford at 6:00 p.m. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.69 runs per game on average), something the Nighthawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
