Basketball Recap: New Buffalo Takes a Loss

If New Buffalo was feeling good fresh off their 102-22 takedown of Covert last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Buffalo Bison took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phoenix Falcons on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, New Buffalo still got an impressive performance from Lucas Forker, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. The match was Forker's eighth in a row with at least ten points. M'Nason Smothers was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

New Buffalo's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Phoenix, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

New Buffalo will look to defend their home court on Friday against Eau Claire at 7:30 p.m. New Buffalo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.6 points per game this season. Phoenix has already played their next contest (against Bellevue), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
