Basketball Recap: Van Buren Takes a Loss

Van Buren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Southern Aroostook Warriors, falling 74-35. The Crusaders lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 81-18 score last time.

Van Buren's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Southern Aroostook, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Van Buren will head out to challenge Central Aroostook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Aroostook will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Van Buren surely won't give up without a fight. Southern Aroostook has already played their next game (against Wisdom), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
