Basketball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence lost to Africentric Early College back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The 76ers lost 83-58 to the Nubians. While losing is never fun, the 76ers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 648th, while the Nubians are ranked 76th).

When it comes to explaining why Independence lost, don't look at Abdoulaye Ndongo. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Ndongo is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Darren White-Tyler, who posted nine points.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Africentric Early College, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Independence has already played their next game, a 62-28 loss against South on the 23rd. As for Africentric Early College, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-48 victory against West on the 23rd.
