Softball Recap: Hopkins Comes Up Short

The Hopkins Vikings came up short against the Fruitport Trojans on Thursday and fell 14-10.

Lyla Reynolds made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cami Hibma, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Hopkins' defeat dropped their record down to 15-12-1. As for Fruitport, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hopkins beat Fruitport by a score of 16-14 later that day.
