Baseball Game Preview: Palma Chieftains vs. Carmel Padres

For the second straight game, Palma will face off against Carmel. The Chieftains will be playing in front of their home fans against the Padres at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

While Palma's win against Carmel wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chieftains skirted past the Padres 7-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Gabe Serrano tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Rocchi, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rocco Razzeca, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Carmel is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Palma, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
