Basketball Recap: Grassfield Grizzlies vs. King's Fork Bulldogs
After flying high against Great Bridge last Friday, Grassfield came back down to earth. The Grassfield Grizzlies were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 46-45 to the King's Fork Bulldogs. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Thompson, who went 6 for 8 en route to 12 points and five rebounds. Lauren Priester was another key player, putting up 15 points.
Grassfield's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for King's Fork, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Grassfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-46 victory against Indian River on the 5th. King's Fork has also already played their next match (against Oscar Smith), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
