Baseball Recap: Foard Comes Up Short

Foard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Hickory Tornadoes, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

Foard got a good showing from Logan Mumy, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those zero earned runs gave Mumy a new career-low.

At the plate, Foard saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Tabor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Foard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Hickory, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Foard is set to face off against their familiar foe Bandys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hickory will challenge rival Maiden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
