Needles had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt GV Christian on Wednesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Guardians with a sharp 18-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Needles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .714. They are 16-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Needles pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for GV Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
