Basketball Game Preview: Hayden Tigers vs. Soroco Rams

Hayden and Soroco are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Hayden Tigers will host the Soroco Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Soroco took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hayden, who comes in off a win.

Hayden played in conference for the first time on Saturday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They strolled past Vail Mountain with points to spare, taking the game 43-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Taryn Schlim had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kennedi Copeland, who posted seven points.

Hayden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Soroco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 37-30 to South Park.

The win got Hayden back to even at 5-5. As for Soroco, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Hayden took their victory against Soroco when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 45-24. Will Hayden repeat their success, or does Soroco have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
