Basketball Recap: North Stanly Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

North Stanly won the last time they faced Union Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The North Stanly Comets walked away with a 66-55 victory over the Union Academy Cardinals. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Cardinals are ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Defeat or not, Union Academy got some senior leadership from Jaqwon Harrell and Sam Additon. Harrell posted 19 points, while Additon had ten points and eight rebounds. Additon has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Owen Haggarty was another key player, putting up eight points.

North Stanly's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.2 points per game. As for Union Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

North Stanly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 75-69 victory against North Rowan on the 9th. As for Union Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-58 win against Albemarle on the 9th.
