Softball Recap: Dunbar Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Dunbar finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 16-0 to the Western Hills Cougars. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Western Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Dunbar and Western Hills: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Dunbar will try to hand Eastern Hills their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Dunbar has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Similarly, Western Hills will look to extend Diamond Hill-Jarvis' four-game losing streak when they meet at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
