Softball Recap: Spring Grove Victorious

Spring Grove and Lyle/Pacelli pushed the score to 22-0 the last time they played Lyle/Pacelli, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Athletics, sneaking past 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Athletics: they've now won seven in a row.

Brinley Middendorf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Emerson Ingvalson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Spring Grove now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Lyle/Pacelli, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Coming up, Spring Grove will head out on the road to take on Schaeffer Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lyle/Pacelli, they will host Southland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
