Basketball Recap: Burney Comes Up Short

Burney lost against Redding Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Burney Raiders were beaten by the Redding Christian Lions 62-26. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.

Garrett College and Cort Covert certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. College posted four points and five rebounds, while Covert scored seven points.

Burney has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Redding Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

Burney will head out to challenge CORE Butte at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burney is facing CORE Butte at the right time seeing as CORE Butte is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Redding Christian, they will challenge Chester at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
