Baseball Recap: Sparta Academy Takes a Loss

Sparta Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 on Monday.

Kyler Barlow made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Jorge Alarcon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Sparta Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Jackson Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

While Sparta Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
