Football Game Preview: Rogers Pirates vs. East Valley Knights + How To Watch

The Rogers Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the East Valley Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rogers' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so East Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Rogers was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Colville on Friday. The Pirates blew past the Crimson Hawks 36-7.

Rogers found their leader in sophomore Chase Chase, who threw for 203 yards and two TDs while completing 92.3% of his passes. Those passing touchdowns marked the first that Chase has passed for this season. Another player making a difference was Everett Long, who gained 106 total yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Rogers proved: they limited Colville to a paltry 1.2 yards per carry. The Pirates didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.8.

Meanwhile, East Valley hadn't done well against Clarkston recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Knights skirted past the Bantams 29-27. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Bantams on their field since October 13, 2017.

Rogers now has a winning record of 4-3. As for East Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Rogers took a serious blow against East Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 41-7. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 27-7.
