Basketball Recap: Four Rivers Comes Up Short

Four Rivers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elgin Huskies. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Four Rivers' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Elgin, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6.

Four Rivers and Elgin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. Four Rivers (ranked 223rd) will meet Grant Union (ranked 66th) at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Elgin will take on Union at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 126 places (204 vs. 78).
