Volleyball Game Preview: Harvest Christian Saints vs. Mercy Culture Prep Royals

Harvest Christian is 6-1 against Mercy Culture Prep since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Harvest Christian has five straight wins, Mercy Culture Prep has 18 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Harvest Christian won the last time they faced Sacred Heart and Sam Velasquez did her part to make sure it happened again. The Saints put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday with plenty of help from Velasquez, who had 23 digs. Velasquez is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 18 every time she's taken the court this season.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Mercy Culture Prep came up short against Victory Christian Academy on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-11.

Mercy Culture Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Harvest Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Everything went Harvest Christian's way against Mercy Culture Prep in their previous meeting back in September, as Harvest Christian made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
